Some PM t-showers possible, but otherwise heating up through the weekend

Thursday Afternoon Outlook

This early preview of Summer should continue through the end of the work week and into the week. Summer heat and even some afternoon pop up storms.

Most of the day Thursday should be partly sunny with afternoon highs averaging in the mid/upper 80s and just a tad more humid. An upper level system passing by just to our north combined with daytime heating could spark the development of some pop up storms during the afternoon and evening. Mainly scattered and not at all locations. With enough instability or "energy" in the atmosphere, a few isolated storms could be strong. Most of these showers and storms should fade out during the evening, otherwise partly cloudy through the night.

A sunny to partly sunny sky on Friday with highs in the upper 80s and possibly nearing 90 in a few spots. Only a slight chance for an afternoon t-shower popping up. The heat continues for the weekend. Sunny to partly sunny Saturday with highs around 90. If any isolated t-showers pop up, the most probable area locally would be in the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mtns. The Record high for Saturday is 93 from 1962. Sunny and hot for Mother's Day with a high again around 90. The Record high for Sunday is 92 from 1962. So, we could be near Record levels both days of the weeeknd!

As always you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
