Lower humidity & comfortable mornings this weekend
A cool front arrives Friday and should provide a more widespread chance for showers and storms locally. Then, much drier air moves in for the weekend!
(MAPS ABOVE: #1. OFF AND ON SHOWERS/STORMS FRIDAY........#2. LOCAL SEVERE THREAT REMAINS LOW........#3. CLOUDS SATURDAY MORNING, THEN SUNNY.....#4. NOT AS HOT OR AS HUMID SATURDAY AFTERNOON)
Breezy along with a more widespread chance for showers and storms can be expected Friday as a cool front slowly moves through. This should occur off and on during the day both from the morning and into the afternoon. As a result of the clouds and showers, afternoon temperatures should hold in the low/mid 80s. The risk of severe storms is low in the "Marginal Risk" category. The main threats being some gusty wind with some storms and heavy downpours.. Of course, frequent lightning a huge risk with some many outdoor activities.
The front should move through Friday Night and bring an end to the showers and storms. Clouds should linger for Saturday Morning, then clearing with more sun into the afternoon. A northerly breeze should bring the drier air in and lower the humidity levels. A few afternoon showers could still occur over the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mtns. So, please keep this in mind if you have weekend plans in the mountains.!
Temperatures overnight Saturday Night and through Sunday Morning should drop into the low/mid 60s. A few spots north and east could drop into the upper 50s. The rest of Sunday looks sunny with afternoon highs in the upper 80s, but again with lower than normal humidity levels.
Seasonable temperatures and low shower chances should continue for the first half of next week!
As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
