A preview of Summer through the week

Afternoon Pop Ups Wednesday.png

It's still early May, but we should get a preview of Summer through the end of the week and into the Mother's Day Weekend!

Wednesday again looks sunny to partly sunny. Morning temperatures should be quite comfortable in the 50s, then heating up to between the lower & middle 80s. There will be the chance for a few afternoon and early evening "pop up" variety of isolated t-showers. So, just be aware of that slight chance if you have afternoon outdoor plans!

The coverage of showers and t-showers could increase locally, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. The overall threat of severe storms remains low. However, a few isolated storms that do develop could have small hail and damaging wind gusts. As always, you can depend om the StormTrack 9 Team to keep you updated. So, the probability is higher for some outdoor plans being interrupted at times Thursday Afternoon and Evening.

Partly sunny for Friday, but again, there could be some scattered t-showers during the afternoon and evening hours. But, the coverage could be a little less on Friday.

The Mother's Day Weekend could be a hot one! High pressure anchored off the Southeast US coast should help keep skies sunny to partly sunny both days. There could still be a few afternoon showers/storms over the Blue Ridge/Smoky Mountains Saturday Afternoon. But, dry for the remainder of our viewing area. Afternoon highs could average in the upper 80s both afternoon. A few isolated spots could reach near 90 for the first time this season!

A return chance for showers and storms could return for early next week (Monday).

As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
