Bald eagle euthanized after struck by car in Greene County, Tenn.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) -
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said doctors had to euthanize a bald eagle after it was struck by a car over the weekend.
The bald eagle was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment after the eagle was struck on Highway 11E in Green County.
Doctors said a CT scan showed a severe spinal fracture.
Doctors believe the eagle was a female due to her size.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency helped a bald eagle get medical attention after it was struck by a car over the weekend.
The agency says the eagle was struck on Highway 11E in Greene County on Sunday. TWRA officers responded to the scene along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Greene County Sheriff's Office.
The eagle was not killed but possibly suffered a leg injury. It was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.
