Dale Pruitt, the new head coach at Dade County High School, spent some time with NewsChannel 9 Tuesday evening.

Of course, he is also the father of Tennessee Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Coaching runs in the family.

Dale Pruitt is ready to tackle the tall task in front of him, turning around the Wolverines program.

Last year Pruitt was at Albertville High School in Alabama and Dade County won only one game.

Pruitt retired and then heard about the Dade County job.

He still lives in Rainsville, AL but commutes about 40 minutes each day.

When he arrived in Trenton, he started combing the hallways looking for more kids to play.

Pruitt says lack of depth was an issue.

But the kids have turned out and he's discovered some talent.

He's entering his 41st year in high school football and has turned around programs such as Albertville and Fort Payne.
