The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked #1 in the first College Football Playoff of the 2017 season.

SEC West leader Alabama is right behind them at #2.

Notre Dame, which the Bulldogs beat by one point on September 9 in South Bend, Indiana, come in at #3.

Clemson, which has one loss just like the Irish, rounds out the top four.

The CFP Selection Committee looks at a number of factors in choosing the top teams.

Some of those factors include the strength of schedule.

Georgia and Alabama are both undefeated, the only unbeaten teams in the top 6 teams.
