TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- An EF-2 tornado tore through parts of Tulsa, Oklahoma, early Sunday morning, damaging businesses and homes, downing power lines and causing a number of minor injuries.

The National Weather Service's preliminary local storm report shows the twister touched down at 1:18 a.m. near 41st and Yale and continued through midtown and east Tulsa. The Southroads Shopping Center area sustained significant damage before the storm moved east.

Thousands have been without power off and on since early Sunday.

A number of injuries have been reported with Tulsa emergency crews taking more than a dozen to local hospitals and dozens more arriving by private vehicle. No serious injuries have been reported.
