Caught on nanny cam: Tennessee babysitter accused of abusing toddler arrested
LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) - A Lincoln County babysitter was wanted for child abuse after a mother claims she was caught on nanny cam abusing a toddler.
Rainey Upton was arrested Tuesday in Madison County, Alabama, according to the Madison County Jail.
She is being held on a felony warrant for child abuse in Lincoln County. She's a being held as a fugitive of justice.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says it began investigating Upton after investigators learned the alleged abuse of a child under 2 years old was captured on a nanny camera. Here's the video:
"Law enforcement has also learned the nanny cam video has been put on social media by the mother of the child," the department said in a news release. "The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department would urge the public to allow the judicial process to work in this case."
After seeing the video from Nov. 12, the LCSD said the district attorney's office issued a warrant for Upton for child abuse.
