NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) - 1 million dressers sold at Kmart stores nationwide are being recalled due to tip-over and entrapment hazards.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on Thursday. The products affected are Belmont four-drawer dressers manufactured by Ridgewood Industries Inc. of Canada.

The dressers were sold from April 2013 through November 2018 for about $40 at Kmart stores nationwide. According to the recall, if not properly anchored to the wall, the dressers can tip over and posed dangers such as death or injury to children. The dressers also to not comply with voluntary performance requirements according to CPSC.

The affected products were sold in multiple colors and include 8 model numbers.

Anyone with the dressers is asked to call Ridgewood at 888-222-7470 for a free anchoring kit and strap. A one-time free in-home installation can also be requested. Anyone with the dressers not properly anchored should stop use and place them in an area where children cannot access.
