UPDATE: 11-year-old girl missing for two days is found safe

UPDATE: Police report Akira was found safely later in the weekend.


The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for your help locating 11 year old Akira Sariah Green.

Akira's family gathered to hope and pray that their loved one would return.

Her aunt, Camilla Eckett says that Akira has run away before but she has never been gone this long.

Camilla says, "When she did, she came back within a few hours.. the same day."

This time, its been two days.

She was last seen leaving for Orchard Knobb Middle School around 6:00 AM Friday morning.

Akira's aunt tells NewsChannel 9 the family received from a call later that day that Akira arrived at Orchard Elementary but was not seen after 2nd period.

Camilla says, " She is beautiful. Just a beautiful girl with a beautiful smile... we miss her.. we want her to know that we love her."

CPD says Akira was last seen wearing Khaki pants, a black shirt, and a black jacket.

She is described as a black female with black hair and brown eyes.

Police say she is 5'04" tall and weighs 145 lbs.
