The Hamilton County Water & Wastewater Treatment Authority (WWTA) is warning people to be vigilant, as they say an imposter is trying to get into homes in our area.

According to a WWTA spokesperson, an individual has been posing as one of their employees and trying to enter homes in Snow Hill and Ooltewah areas.

The WWTA wanted to stress the following:

  • The WWTA never asks customers to allow them to come into homes.
  • WWTA cars and uniforms are clearly marked.
  • All WWTA employees have official Hamilton County photo ID badges that are clearly displayed.

The WWTA has reported the situation to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Last week, Tennessee American Water also asked people to watch out for people posing as their employees in order to enter homes.
