Red Bank High School student arrested for bringing gun to class Wednesday
UPDATE (Wednesday afternoon):
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says a student at Red Bank High was arrested, and a handgun recovered from them.
The HCSO says the student was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The student is being charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and theft/possession of stolen property.

Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) spokesman Tim Hensley says a student brought a weapon to class.
Hensley says a student reported to school personnel that another student had the weapon.
The Red Bank School Resource Officer and administration located the student, and Hensley says they found the weapon on the student.
Hensley would not say what kind of a weapon it was.
Hensley says, "The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department has the situation under investigation at this time and has control of investigation details."
He adds there will be increased law enforcement and administrative presence at the school Wednesday afternoon as a precautionary measure.

It's unclear whether this incident is related to the reason students were delayed in their dismissal from the school on Tuesday.
