A homeowner called 911 after his barn caught fire in Sale Creek at 3:28 Sunday afternoon.

The Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) responded quickly and arrived on the scene, confirming the fully-involved barn fire.

The VFD says they did their best to contain the fire to the barn due to structure management.

No injuries were reported according to the VFD.

Fire officials reported the barn was used for storage and a fire pit was the cause of the fire.

The VFD says the barn is destroyed and the house has heat damage valued at $10,000.

Because of the hot temperature, Sale Creek VFD requested a Mutual Aid response for the Soddy Daisy Fire Department to respond for more manpower.
