Volkswagen interviews hundreds of applicants for new openings
Aerotek is looking to fill nearly 380 positions to work on the new Volkswagen Passat and Atlas. Jobs include work in assembly, paint, body, and logistics.
Over 300 applicants showed up today at Volkswagen Chattanooga vying for work, as applicant Adam Wolfe says he's heard nothing but encouraging things from friends that are already employed by the automotive plant.
"They’ve always spoken praises for Volkswagen and to come and be a part of such an amazing company like this would definitely be a dream come true."
Interviews were held at Volkswagen Chattanooga from 9 AM until noon.
As far as compensation, Aerotek says every position will pay $14 to $16 dollars per hour, and an additional $1.50 per hour will be added for the night shift.
Another applicant says this would be his first job at 18 years old, and that it would be a bode of confidence to work at VW.
"I feel like I’d be very confident I’d be able to go up to someone and be like I work for Volkswagen."
