Underground electrical fire forces Chattanooga City Hall to evacuate Tuesday
Firefighters with the Chattanooga Fire Department are on the scene of an apparent underground electrical fire near Chattanooga's City Hall.
The fire happened underground near 11th Street and Lindsay Street.
For a while, everyone inside City Hall was forced to evacuate the building. But as of 12:45 p.m., city spokeswoman Richel Albright tells NewsChannel 9 everyone has been given the all-clear to re-enter the building.
The Chattanooga Fire Department says no one was hurt. Spokesman Bruce Garner says something electrical blew underground, causing the manhole cover to blow out of its place.
