Two charged in Chattanooga with home invasion, kidnapping Saturday
Chattanooga Police are charging two men with kidnapping after what they describe as a home invasion incident that happened Saturday morning.
According to affidavits obtained by NewsChannel 9, 22-year-old Tyson Lamar Sylvester (above, right) is charged with kidnapping, aggravated burglary and harassment. 21-year-old Joshua Tremaine Russell (above, left) is charged with criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, aggravated burglary and harassment.
The affidavits say the incident happened Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at a home on the 4000 block of Calderwood Circle.
Responding officers found the victim sitting in a car with Sylvester.
She told officers Sylvester and Russell broke into her home, and demanded to know the whereabouts of her daughter. She says one of the men - later identified as Russell - threatened her with a gun, and began ransacking the place.
The affidavit says Sylvester told officers the woman's daughter took his vehicle and money.
Russell fled the scene and was later arrested at his place of employment, Cheddar's on Gunbarrel Road. The police report says Russell told officers he ran away from the scene "after he determined how severe it was going."
Both are now in custody.
