A man is in the Marion County jail after reportedly shooting at a woman, then leading authorities on a car chase Saturday.

The suspect is Daniel Southerland.

The Trenton City Police Department posted on Facebook that Dade County deputies first got a call about him firing shots at a woman.

The suspect left the scene in a car. When officers tried to pull him over, he kept going onto I-59 N.

The chase continued into Marion County where THP tried stopping him with spike strips, but that didn't work.

A Marion County deputy tried boxing the suspect in, but then they say he pointed a revolver at the deputy.

The suspect took the Kimball exit where officers were eventually able to arrest him without any injuries to the officers.

The suspect is on probation in several counties.

The woman involved had a temporary protection order against him.

He faces several aggravated assault and traffic charges. His mugshot is not yet available.
