Tractor trailer overturns on I-75 near East Ridge Wednesday morning
Crews are working to get an overturned tractor trailer upright near the Ringgold Road exit in East Ridge on the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 after an accident early Wednesday morning.
The accident happened shortly before 7 a.m.
Police on the scene tell us the driver of the 18-wheeler sideswiped another driver, then veered into a ditch. The driver suffered minor cuts and bruises and chose not to go to the hospital. Police say charges will not be filed.
Crews are now working to get the tractor trailer upright, and that process may take several hours. We're told the on ramp at the Ringgold Road exit will be closed for at least two hours.
As of noon, the crash was still causing a slowdown for drivers, but crews hope to have it removed soon.
This is a developing story and will be updated as we get new information.
