Customers frustrated with a Chattanooga monument company may have some relief soon.

A&R Holdings, LLC, the company that took over Wichman Monuments, says it has accepted responsibility for 260 customer accounts.

Wichman Monuments closed earlier in March after receiving several complaints about services not rendered. Many customers told NewsChannel 9 they paid the business for gravestones then never heard from them again.

As of Wednesday, 45 refund checks have been mailed out. Nineteen contracts have been closed because those customers never paid any amount on the contract.

A&R Holdings says 14 customers have been refunded through a credit card charge back.

Another 65 customer orders will be completed. About 30 to 40 of those will have to be ordered from manufacturers out of Chattanooga.

A&R Holdings says they have also examined and discarded many fraudulent claims made by people who had no current business with Wichman Monuments when it went out of business, had never had any business with them, or had already been refunded the money and were looking for a second payment.

A&R Holdings says they've reached out to each customer on the list, but were unable to reach six or seven of them.
