Tennessee woman charged with DUI in connection to crash involving school bus

ALTAMONT, Tenn. - (WZTV) -- A Tennessee woman faces DUI charges after she crashed her car into a Grundy Co. head start bus on Friday afternoon.

Police tell Fox 17 News 35-year-old Shannon Hargis, from Gruetli-Laager, was charged with Driving Under the Influence following the crash.

The crash happened on Highway 108 in Altamont.

According to Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum says, "had it not been for the alert bus driver this would have ended much different."

Officials say the children on the bus weren't injured during the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
