TBI investigates officer-involved shooting in Clinton Wednesday
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Special Agents are investigating the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting that occurred just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday in Clinton, Tennessee.
On its website, the TBI says that three officers with the Clinton Police Department responded to a home in the 1000 block of East Drive after getting a tip that a man with outstanding warrants was there.
The TBI says when they got there, officers confirmed the man was at the home and tried to take him into custody. The TBI says he tried to escape by by climbing out a window. At some point during the encounter, the TBI says the man fired a weapon at officers, and one of the officers then returned fire. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No officer was hurt.
The TBI hasn't yet identified the man, nor any of the officers involved, and the investigation continues.
