A man accused of killing a grandfather is back in Walker County.
NewsChannel 9 was there Friday as Mitchell Taylor Horton was extradited to the Walker County Jail.
Horton was arrested in Hamilton County Wednesday by Chattanooga police.
Horton is accused of hitting and killing Horace Cribbs earlier this week. Cribbs was doing yardwork at his family's home.
"[It has been] kind of like I’m living in a nightmare. Yesterday, we picked out my dad's casket," said Bryanna Edwards, Cribbs' daughter.
Cribbs was a father and grandfather.
"The past couple of days I’ve tried to stay numb because if I don’t then I can’t take care of my kids," said Edwards.
Friday, we watched as Walker County deputies brought Horton back to Walker County.
"We’re thankful for everyone that shared and helped," said Edwards.
And to the man that investigators says killed her father, Edwards hopes he hears this message.
"He should have stopped because my dad wasn't garbage and he should have been paying attention and my dad would still be here," she said.
Horton is charged with homicide by vehicle.
He’ll appear in front of a magistrate this weekend.
