Sheriff's Office: Pipe-wielding perp arrested in Rossville Circle K robbery

Walker County detectives and Fort Oglethorpe police have arrested a man they say threatened and robbed a convenience store clerk early Wednesday morning.

Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, surveillance video at the McFarland Avenue Circle K captured a man in a white hoodie come in, carrying what police say was a pipe.

In a Facebook post, the Walker County Sheriff's Office said the man threatened the person working behind the counter.

The sheriff's office says the man then took cash, cigarettes, and the clerk's phone before walking out, heading for the railroad tracks.

At half past noon on Thursday, Walker County detectives and Fort Oglethorpe PD served an arrest warrant at the Oglethorpe Ridge Apartments on Cloud Springs Road.

Officers arrested Joshua Calvin Russell, and charged him with armed robbery in the incident.

According to WCSO spokesperson Kim Jones, additional charges are pending against Russell.
