Sheriff, GBI investigating "suspicious" death after body found in Georgia home

UPDATE (Wednesday 9/20):

The Chattooga County Sheriff's Office is now treating the "suspicious" death of a Summerville man as a homicide after his wife found his body Monday night.

PREVIOUSLY:

The Chattooga County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) and GBI are investigating a "suspicious" death after a Summerville woman says she came home Monday night to find her husband dead.

Around 10 p.m. Monday night, Renee Lanham called 911 and told police that when she arrived at their home on the 1800 block of Butler Dairy Road, she found her husband Edward Earl "Eddie" Lanham dead.

Investigators responded to the call, and worked throughout the night gathering more information.

CCSO Sheriff Mark Schrader says the death is "of a suspicious nature", but the Sheriff's Office has not disclosed any more information at this time.
