Sandy the Flower Man is saying thank you to Chattanoogans who helped him.

Two women launched a GoFund Me campaign last month to try and raised money to help out Sandy Bell with his bills.

He's recuperating from rounds of chemotherapy.

The fundraising effort was successful enough to also purchase this veteran an electric bike with pedal assist.

Nicole Price, a friend of Sandy, says

"Our goal was for six months worth of rent but so far incredibly exceeded that. We were able to do a couple stretch goals and that included getting him a cell phone and getting him this amazing bike courtesy of our friends at the electric bike store on main street."

So now he will have many more years of biking around downtown Chattanooga spreading joy and flowers.

He received his new wheels at the Honest Pint tonight.
