Ronald McDonald House Charities Telethon
An annual event for more than 20 years has come to an end but not before raising nearly 2-million-dollars.
The first Ronald McDonald House Charities telethon aired on NewsChannel 9 in 1994.
The organization helps families with critically ill kids receiving medical treatment in the our area.
Saturday night, NewsChannel 9 aired the last telethon for the charity.
Jane Kaylor tells us why the telethon has meant so much over the years.
"The telethon is a wonderful way for all those people that've been working so hard for us all year to come on & show their friends & family where their donations are going," said Kaylor.
$1,189.000 dollars was raised.
All of that money will stay in our community to help families in need.
