East Ridge Police Chief placed on administrative leave, officer fired
The City of East Ridge has confirmed that East Ridge Police Chief J.R. Reed was placed on administrative leave last week, pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
Assistant Chief Stan Allen has confirmed he is acting chief of police in the city.
We do not yet know what prompted the investigation.
Reed has been police chief at the ERPD since 2014.
Assistant City Manager Kenny Custer also confirms another member of the force, Officer Adam Rose, has been fired effective November 28.
Custer says Rose "engaged in conduct contrary to the community standards of honesty, justice and/or good moral values," going against his sworn oath as a police officer.
