Police identify pedestrian struck and killed on Amnicola Highway late Sunday night

Chattanooga Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed in this incident.

A release says the accident happened just before 10 p.m. at 3459 Amnicola Highway.

Police say a Toyota was traveling south when it hit the man, later identified as 45-year-old Lakhbir Singhshergill.

Singhshergill was pronounced dead on the scene.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.


All lanes of Amnicola Highway open as of 2:45 a.m.


Chattanooga Police say a portion of Amnicola Highway is currently closed.

According to a tweet from CPD, the closure comes after an "traffic incident" Sunday night.

CPD says traffic will be redirected onto Wisdom Street and C.B. Robinson Bridge.
