The Dalton police need your help identifying a man who was caught on camera using a credit card from a smash-and-grab car break in at a local gym Monday.

Police say the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. at Peak Fitness at 1021 Riverburch Highway.

A woman told police she left her purse in the parking lot of the gym. When she got back, the back passenger door of her car had been broken out and her purse was gone.

Police reviewed surveillance video, and found a black car had pulled up, and a man got out, broke the window, and stole the woman's purse.

The purse was a Michael Kors purse, and contained the victim's ID, a credit card, other cards, and $50 cash.

Ten minutes later, police say the suspect used the credit card at the Walgreen's on Walnut Avenue to buy a greeting card and a gift card loaded with $500.

He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Police say he also tried to buy another gift card at a nearby Kroger minutes later, but the card was declined.

If you know who this man is, please contact Officer Coleman Jenkins at 706-278-9085, ext. 9207 or by email at cjenkins@cityofdalton-ga.gov.
