CONYERS, Ga. — A Georgia sheriff says three people have been shot to death in Conyers, about 25 miles southeast of Atlanta.
Rockdale County sheriff's Deputy Lee Thomas says the homeowner shot the three teenage boys early Monday morning.
Thomas says the homeowner called 911 after the shooting.
WSB-TV in Atlanta reports that two of the teens were brothers, 15 and 16 years old. A third boy was 15.
Investigators tell the station that one of the teens pulled out a gun and fired at neighbors before the homeowner returned fire. Three people were home at the time of the shooting.
Deputies arrived to find all three boys who had been shot lying in the driveway. One of the boys died at the scene. The other two later died at the hospital.
Neighbors tell WSB-TV the homeowner is a truck driver who owns a semi-automatic rifle and is highly protective of his mother.
Police haven't filed any charges as of Tuesday morning.
