Police: Driver hurt in July 11th Bonny Oaks collision succumbs to injuries Thursday
Chattanooga Police say a driver who caused a head-on collision on Bonny Oaks Drive on Thursday, July 11th has succumbed to his injuries.
Police identify the driver as 56-year-old Mac Evans.
Police say the accident happened just after 2:30 p.m. at 6510 Bonny Oaks Drive, a little east of the Drivers License Center.
Police say Evans was heading west, and a Ford F-350 pickup was heading east, when the driver of the pickup says Evans drifted into his path. The driver says he was unable to avoid the collision.
The head-on crash caused Evans' Ford Explorer to rotate into the roadway. Evans had to be extricated by the Chattanooga Fire Department.
An ambulance rushed him to the hospital. On Thursday, police were notified that Evans succumbed to his injuries.
Police do not plan to file any charges in the incident.
