One person killed in Sale Creek train crash

Authorities have identified the victim as 69-year-old Leslie Smith.


Hamilton County Dispatch has confirmed that one person has been kiled in an accident involving a train and a passenger vehicle in Sale Creek.

Dispatch tells us that the accident happened just after 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of Reavley and Railroad Roads.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) says that no other people were in the vehicle.

Traffic investigators are looking into the accident.

A portion Reavley Road near the railroad crossing and Railroad Street have been closed due to the accident. The HCSO has not said when the roads will reopen.

The HCSO has not released the name of the person.

A crew is on the scene working to get information.
