The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Cleveland Friday afternoon.

The Bradley County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) and Cleveland Police Department were on the scene of the accident on I-75 southbound near Paul Huff Parkway around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The BCSO says at least one person was killed in the crash. The THP later identified the victim as 43-year-old Cara Diana Saylor-Slaughter of Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The THP has taken charge of the investigation.

Investigators say Saylor-Slaughter was speeding, and then swerved. She tried to overcorrect, and that forced her off the left side of the roadway. The THP says the vehicle rolled several times in the grass, ejecting Saylor-Slaughter, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
