Murder suspect from Huntsville arrested in Marion County

Huntsville Police say suspect Warren Hardy was taken into custody Sunday in Marion County.

HUNTSVILLE, AL- (WAAY) Investigators with Marion County Sheriff's Office and Huntsville Police Department confirm that Warren Hardy has been arrested in Whitwell, TN. His car was also recovered.

Authorities say he shot and killed 72-year-old Kathleen Lundy Friday, August 26 in the Morland Pointe neighborhood in Huntsville.

Authorities say it began as a pursuit. They say they first found him at his girlfriend's home in Tennessee before ending in Whitwell.

Family members of the suspect tell WAAY 31 that his girlfriend is originally from Tennessee.

Police say Madison County Sheriff's Office is working with Marion County deputies to extradite him.
