Monday morning fire damages home in Brainerd
A house is now damaged after it caught on fire early Monday morning.
It happened around 3 A.M. on the 100 block of Amhurst Avenue.
The first firefighters on the scene reported significant flames on the backside of the house. Battalion Chief Nate Middlebrooks said the firefighters worked quickly with hand-held hoselines to get the blaze under control in roughly 20 minutes. The house was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.
They say no one was injured.
Chief Middlebrooks said the dollar loss was estimated at around $150,000. Investigators say the fire started on or near a charcoal grill, then spread to the exterior of the house.
