Middle Tennessee man charged with abuse of corpse in girlfriend's death
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--A Tennessee man has been charged with abuse of a corpse after leaving the body of his live-in girlfriend in the home for weeks or possibly months.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the body of 72-year-old Dorris Ann Braithwaite was found inside an Old Stewart Road home in Houston County.
Houston County Sheriff's deputies were initially called for a welfare check on Braithwaite and they found her deceased on the floor of the home. The investigation found based on the condition of her body, she had been dead for several weeks or months.
Her boyfriend, Robert Calvin Mark was arrested and charged with abuse of a corps. He has been booked into the Houston County Jail on $750,000 bond. An autopsy is being conducted to determine cause of death.
