Medical examiner releases report on woman found dead in Hixson home

The cause of death has been released in the homicide case of a woman found dead in a Hixson home last month.

According to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office, Taja Whiteside died on January 11 after being choked to death.

The report also says Whiteside received blunt force injuries to the head.

Chattanooga Police officers responded to a call on Moody Sawyer Road just before noon that day.

Police say Hamilton County EMS pronounced the 30 year old dead on the scene.

This case is still under investigation.
