McMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVC) - A man in McMinn County is facing several charges after authorities say he violated an order of protection and assaulted his girlfriend.

Sheriff Joe Guy also says 37-year-old Reginald Moten is also recovering from being shot several times by the woman.

Guy says deputies were dispatched to a residence on Road 26 near Calhoun early Saturday morning at 1 a.m.

"It appears that a female at the residence had recently left her boyfriend (Reginal Moten) and had recently obtained arrest warrants and an order of protection against him for a previous domestic assault," Guy said.

"Around 1 a.m., Moten came to the residence in violation of the order, and it appears he again assaulted [the woman], who then shot Moten several times. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Chattanooga hospital."

"Moten still will face the previous charges, and now will be likely be charged with violating the order of protection and the assault once he is out of the hospital," added Guy.

The woman who shot Moten has not been charged as of now, says Guy.
