MEIGS COUNTY, Tenn. — The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says the body of a man has been found in the Tennessee River.
According to Detective Alex Clary, the body was found in the river just north of Cottonport Marina Wednesday afternoon around 12:30 p.m.
Detective Clary says they are not releasing the name of the man yet, as they're still notifying family members, but said that he was born in 1991, making him either 27 or 28 years old.
The sheriff's office believes this to have been an accidental drowning, and no foul play suspected.
This is a developing story, and will be updated.
