Man shot after breaking into home early Saturday morning
We received the following release from the Chattanooga Police Department:
On September 21, 2019 at approximately 1:28 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 600 block of Sylvan Drive on a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, Police located a male suffering from a gunshot wound.
Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the male to a local hospital.
Officers secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Unit to respond.
Investigators were able to determine that the male who was shot had entered the residence illegally.
The male assaulted both residents of the home and then was shot.
Investigators are charging the male party with Aggravated Criminal Trespass, Aggravated Burglary, and Aggravated Domestic Assault (x2).
The suspect is currently at the hospital and will be transported to the Hamilton County Jail after being released.
