Man injured when ski boat collides with his personal watercraft on Chickamauga Lake
TWRA Officer David Holt says a man has suffered "multiple fractures" after a boating accident and has since been transported to Erlanger Hospital.
It happened around 1 p.m. on Kings Point Road, near the Chickamauga Marina.
Mime Barnes with the TWRA says the man is a 30-year-old from Georgia, and TWRA Officer David Holt says the man got "run over" by a ski boat while he was driving his Sea-Doo personal watercraft.
Holt says based on interviews with the two people on the ski boat, it appears the PWC driver "could have been operating in an unsafe manner" in which he got in the way of the ski boat while it was moving. Holt tells me the ski boat had "no alternative route" and ended up hitting the man.
We do not yet know the severity of the fractures or where the man suffered them on his body.
Holt tells us the man's watercraft has minor damages, as does the ski boat. Holt says neither person on the ski boat was injured.
TWRA is still investigating to confirm who's at fault in this accident.
