Catoosa County, GA — Authorities in Catoosa County are investigating after a man was found dead in a burned truck. Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk says the man was found dead at a home on Highway 151 in Ringgold.
"It's a heavily charred vehicle," said Gary Sisk. "We can tell the heat was very intense. It's a very difficult scene right now."
Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk says - they don't know what caused the fire.
"It's early in the investigation," said Sisk. "But preliminary doesn't indicate that there was any foul play. Possibly accidental. But we still have a lot of questions that need to be answered."
The fire already burned out by the time firefighters and deputies got there. The Sheriff's office - says they don't know how long the man's body was in the truck.
"Those are things we're trying to figure out," said Sisk. "We're going to recreate and put together a timeline of all the events that have taken place for probably the last 12-24 hours."
The house was being remodeled, and the father of the deceased went to check on his on. He found him inside the burned truck.
The fire department is assisting with the investigation.
