Local law enforcement members help kick off Special Olympics Spring Games in Chattanooga
Law enforcement officers and staff are helping kick off the 51st Annual Lloyd Ray Smith Spring Games for the Special Olympics in Chattanooga.
They'rerunning the Special Olympics Torch from Miller Plaza to Red Bank High School Saturday morning.
Athletes and officers will carry the "Flame of Hope" into the Opening Ceremonies.
The goal is to celebrate courage and diversity, and provide year round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
More than 97,000 law enforcement members help out every year, according to Special Olympics Tennessee.
