JDRF One Walk raises money and awareness for Diabetes
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. —
Rain didn't stop hundreds of people from turning out to Coolidge Park Sunday afternoon for the 18th annual JDRF One Walk.
NewsChannel 9 Anchor, Greg Funderburg, emcee'd the event.
Organizers say the walk is meant to raise both awareness and funds for Type 1 Diabetes and Diabetes research.
JDRF Development Coordinator, Kellen Bridges, told NewsChannel 9 that families, businesses, and schools all teamed up in groups to walk for the cause.
On it's website, JDRF says it's goal was to raise $152,500 from the walk.
At last check, the website says it raised $122,978.
Although the walk is over, you can still donate to the cause here.
