Jail inspectors say Bradley Co. jail passes yearly inspection
CLEVELAND, Tenn. —
The Bradley County Sheriff's Office's (BCSO) correctional facility has passed its 2018 inspection by the Tennessee Department of Corrections, the BCSO announced Tuesday.
The yearly inspection focused on making sure the jail maintains functions of utilities like lighting, documentation of disciplinary reports, safety and fire inspections, food service, plumbing, and cell sanitation.
TDOC inspectors told Sheriff Watson that the jail was given a passing status.
In preparation for next year's inspection, the BCSO says it has drafted a renovation plan to install stainless steel inside every shower within the jail to help meet TDOC's standards.
In March, TDOC shared an inspection report with NewsChannel 9 detailing several issues that they had with the jail.
In the report, TDOC found the jail suffered overcrowding and sanitary issues, in addition to others.
