Boyfriend charged with murdering girlfriend in Walker County
UPDATE: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Department of Forensic Science has released their preliminary finding following the autopsy of Candace Hankins.
The GBI says that the initial findings of the autopsy suggests that the cause of death was manual asphyxiation.
The GBI also confirmed that Hankins was pregnant when she was killed.
Additional charges are pending against David Ryan Walker.
Walker remains in the Walker County Detention Facility.
On Tuesday, he was charged with homicide and feticide.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson tells NewsChannel 9 that David Ryan Walker is being charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Candace Ann Hankins.
Wilson believes Hankins was murdered in the home then taken to the woods behind her home, where her body was found.
Wilson says the suspect called relatives after it happened, expressing remorse. He says relatives rushed to the home, and he tried to get their help disposing of Hankins's body. They refused, left the scene, and called police.
Wilson says deputies are familiar with this address, as they have been called to it several times to investigate reports of drugs and domestic violence.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on the scene helping with the investigation.
Hankins's friend Tiffany Salvia tells us Hankins was four months pregnant at the time of her death. Sheriff Wilson says that will be determined in an autopsy and if she is pregnant, Walker could face feticide charges.

The Walker County Sheriff's Office along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a homicide.
It was first reported just after 7 p.m. Sunday night.
Law enforcement officers, Walker County Emergency Services and the Coroner worked the crime scene on the 900 block of Wheeler Road in Lafayette from Sunday evening into early Monday morning.
Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson says a suspect has been arrested and charged with murder. That suspect is currently in the Walker County jail.
Later in the morning, investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrived on the crime scene.
The name of the suspect and victim have not yet been released.
