RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — Fire crews were called to a massive blaze in Murfreesboro early Thursday after a homeless camp caught fire.
The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department responded around 8 a.m. to a camp in the woods behind businesses along Robert Rose Drive and the Thompson Lane area. Smoke could reportedly be seen for miles.
Firefighters were able to remove a propane tank near the fire with a pole and extinguish the fire. Since there was no access to the blaze, a crew used an apparatus to get hoses over a ravine.
No injuries were reported.
