CBL Properties, which owns and operates Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga, announced Monday that a 135-room Aloft by Marriott Hotel will be a part of its Sears redevelopment plan.

It will be a new development adjacent to the current Sears buliding, in between the current Cheesecake Factory and the future Dave & Buster's.

The new hotel marks the "Aloft by Marriott" brand’s entrance into the Chattanooga market. Several other Marriott chains are already in town.

“We are thrilled to partner with Chattanooga-based Vision Hospitality Group to bring the unique experience of Aloft to Chattanooga as part of the Hamilton Place Sears redevelopment project,” said Stephen Lebovitz, chief executive officer of CBL Properties. “We are actively executing our vision to transform our properties into suburban town centers that offer visitors a variety of experiences. The addition of Aloft by Marriott complements the broader redevelopment plans at Hamilton Place, which include the addition of The Cheesecake Factory, Dave & Buster's as well as class ‘A’ office space, additional dining options and new retail.”

A release from CBL says, "Known for its trendy style and vibrant social scene, the Aloft brand uses technology and design to enhance experiences and keep up with the needs of the modern traveler. The Aloft Chattanooga Hamilton Place will feature an urban-inspired design with loft-like guestrooms, featuring airy 9-foot ceilings and keyless entry using your smartphone or Apple Watch."

“Experiences are the new commodity, and Aloft Hotels get that,” said Mitch Patel, Vision Hospitality Group President & CEO. “The brand incorporates technology, design and culture to set it apart from the traditional hotel, and we look forward to bringing this new experience to our hometown of Chattanooga. We value our long standing relationship with CBL Properties, as well as the opportunity to be a part of this special redevelopment.”

Construction on the Hamilton Place redevelopment project is set to begin this spring.
