Hamilton Co. District Attorney recuses self from Orange Grove lawsuit
NewsChannel 9 has confirmed that Hamilton County District Attorney Neal Pinkston has recused himself from a negligent-death lawsuit against the Orange Grove Center.
Last month, the family of Carrie Parkey sued the center, claiming the center was negligent in caring for him. They are suing for $7.5 million in damages.
Parkey, who was 60, was found unresponsive in one of Orange Grove's vans on April 18th.
Pinkston's office says 12th Judicial District District Attorney Mike Taylor will now handle the case, because Pinkston was a past president of Orange Grove.
The Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities continues to investigate Parkey's death.
