WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE (Monday, September 2):
Georgia State Patrol officials have identified a North Carolina man they say died during a motorcycle chase with troopers Sunday evening.
According to GSP officials, a trooper saw the motorcyclist, 21-year-old Wyatt Lee Green of Camp Lejeune, NC, driving recklessly on the North Bypass in Whitfield County around 7 p.m.
When the trooper tried to stop Green, officials say he failed to yield, and started a chase. The GSP says he continued to drive recklessly, weaving in and out of traffic and running up behind vehicles.
Officials say the chase ended in a crash near Maddox Chapel Road when the motorcycle ran off the road, went down an embankment, and overturned. The GSP says there was no contact between the motorcycle and the patrol vehicle.

The Georgia State Patrol says one person died after a crash near Maddox Chapel Road in Whitfield County Sunday.
According to the GSP, officers were led on a chase with the person riding the motorcycle on the North Bypass. The GSP says the motorcycle crashed and the rider was killed.
